Arguably the most famous rooftop bar in Bangkok, Sky Bar at the Lebua State Tower is known for its iconic golden dome and views over the city and the Chao Phraya River. Located on the 63rd floor, this bar gained worldwide fame after being featured in the movie “The Hangover Part II.” Sky Bar exudes a luxurious and sophisticated vibe. Dramatic vistas and excellent cocktails, this is Bangkok at its finest. 

The Drinks: The cocktail menu at Sky Bar is as impressive as its views. The “Hangovertini,” created in honor of the movie, is a must-try, featuring a blend of green tea liquor, apple juice, Martini Rosso and rosemary honey. The bar also has a wide selection of wines, champagnes and premium spirits.

2. Vertigo and Moon Bar at Banyan Tree Bangkok

Perched on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel, Vertigo & Moon Bar offers a sleek and oh so chic setting with unparalleled, 360° views of Bangkok’s skyline. This dual-concept venue features a modern dining restaurant, Vertigo, and their signature rooftop bar, Moon Bar. If you’re feeling brave after a few cocktails, try the Moon Walk – a glass panelled floor that looks down onto the city below. With its minimalist design, candle-lit tables and sumptuous lighting, this is the perfect spot for a date night watching the sunset over the City of Angels. 

The Drinks: The signature “Vertigo Sunset” is a refreshing blend of pineapple juice, cranberry juice, lime juice and Malibu rum. Moon Bar also has a selection of creative, in-house cocktails that are all asking to be sampled. We loved the Pacific Sour and Blue Fig Fuzz.

3. Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar

Located on the 45th floor of the Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar boasts a 360-degree view of Bangkok spanning three floors. Each floor has a unique vibe, but of course, the highlight is the rooftop terrace. With plush seating, wood panelling and soft lighting, the atmosphere here is warm and relaxed. The perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Bangkok. 

The Drinks: Octave’s cocktail menu is extensive, with fun, colourful signature drinks, although of course the bartenders are happy to make you the classics if you wish. The “Sunset Serenade” is a favourite, made with Olmeca Gold, Campari, lime juice, jasmine syrup and grapefruit bitter. Octave also have an extensive whiskey list, including premium Japanese varieties and 15 year old single malts.

4. Above Eleven

Above Eleven is a Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant and rooftop bar located on the 33rd floor of the Fraser Suites Sukhumvit. It’s a lively bar with DJ’s playing throughout the week and weekend; it’s a hit with locals and expats. The bar’s design is actually inspired by New York City’s Central Park, with lush greenery and park-like elements throughout the decor. The panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline are unbeatable, and the atmosphere is buzzing, making it a great spot for a night out with friends.

The Drinks: You can find a great selection of creative in-house cocktails, with an entire section dedicated to Peruvian inspired creations. The “Nikkei Mule,” a twist on the classic Moscow Mule, comes with a Japanese flair. The bar also features a range of sake, wines, beers and, of course, Pisco Sours. Not to mention a choice selection of Tequila and Mezcal.

Located on the 55th floor of the Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Red Sky is a more sophisticated dining and drinking experience with, as expected, a stunning view of Bangkok’s skyline. Think jazz lounge meets elegant bistro, all aglow with their iconic red lighting. It’s a romantic spot, perfect for a date night or relaxed drinks with friends. 

Drinks: Red Sky’s cocktail menu is curated with both classic and innovative drinks. The “Red Sky Mojito,” infused with fresh strawberries, is a popular choice and reflects their signature colours. Don’t forget to sample one of their signature martini’s – we loved the Cosmopolitan, made with Skyy Vodka, Grand Marnier, cranberry juice and a cosmo foam cap.

6. Park Society Rooftop Bar at SO Sofitel, Bangkok

Park Society Rooftop Bar is situated on the 29th floor of the SO Sofitel Bangkok and has spectacular views of Lumphini Park and the city skyline. With street food inspired dining and all-night DJs, this is a more relaxed vibe than other rooftop bars. But that doesn’t mean it lacks atmosphere. Plush seating, modern design and world-class food make this a hidden gem. The kind only the locals know about. 

The Drinks: The Signature Cocktails here are based around the Zodiac signs, a fun design feature you’ll find across the menu’s too. The Leo, of course, offers bold and unique flavours, while the watery Piscean option is inspired by the ocean. We also love their wonderful and creative Aperitif selection; the Fabiola is a must try.
